There is often a perception that as a charity we receive money or its equivalent from benevolent or altruistic people without any expectation of return. Unfortunately, this is far from our reality. In truth we receive little for free, have to compete for the rest and produce super efficient outcomes to ensure our funders receive the best value for their money. As a lesbian and gay charity we aren’t always the most popular choice for funders and we therefore rely heavily on the empathy of friends and community members to supplement our income and facilitate the continued need for our services.
Joining ELOP Chums is one way to support our ongoing work and keep in touch with what’s going on at ELOP. As a Chum you’ll receive regular mailings and information about ELOP’s work and upcoming events as well as information on ways you can get involved. Our Chums support the work of ELOP through making valuable and much needed regular donations by standing order. We are currently developing this page so that you can make donations online. However, you can become an ELOP Chum today by requesting a standing order form from our administration team to set this up with your bank.
